Look at all the add-ons I have! I can't live without reverb, so I'll have to cheat and use
If you have a Mac and even these add-ons, here are the specific settings.

MIXING IN AUDACITY
Pay no attention to the waveforms, I made this after I finished

STEPS:

  1. Compressor
  2. Normalize
  3. Bass & Treble
  4. **Reverb

** So I have a Mac and these “Apple” add-ons are included under the effects. Surprised me too. I also have Antares add-ons, but I actually went and got those.

AFTER THOUGHTS

Okay. So granted I only worked in Audacity for about thirty minutes, but here’s my opinion. It’s not made for mixing.

It’s like trying to brush your hair with a fork.

Unless you find some really great add-ons or want to mix acoustic pieces the rest of your life, it’s a better use of your time to find and learn a different program. Even Audition is not that much harder than Audacity and contains limitless possibilities in regards to effects alone.

My recommendation is to ask around, do your research, and find a program that fits what you’re trying to achieve.

But if you’re content and just trying mixing out, stick with Audacity.

EDIT: I tried it again and have changed my mind a bit! Check out this post »here«
